A cultural booklet showcasing the rich and vibrant history and identity of Bhutan
The goal was to design a booklet showcasing the culture of a chosen county. Bhutan was chosen due to its overall gross national happiness and this rich culture that has been mostly untouched over the course of time since its founding. The booklet displays the county’s history, cuisine, wild life, and traditional clothing

Stage 1

Challenges
- Designing within InDesign for the first time for a creative editorial design project
- Creating an illustration style that effectively showcases the rich and timeless culture of Bhutan
- Working and communicating with printing services to create and assemble the booklet
Goals
- Learn the basics of InDesign, type hierarchy, and elements of book/booklet design
- Showcase the Bhutan’s culture which includes landmark, food, clothing, and cultural events
- Develop a visual style that connects to the colors and energy shown within the country
