What is GG News?
An app for a women's’ successes within the video game industry and a space for a community.
The concept was to create an digital application to promote any topic of news and create a sense of a virtual community. The topic chosen was news surrounding women within the video game industry along with their games and successes.
It is meant to be an app for women to connect over video games though gaming showcases, gaming process and development, along with reviews and forums.
Goals:
Inform the achievements and successes of women within the gaming industry
Highlight women who has changed the industry and new development by the hands of women
Grow the community of women or ‘girl gamers’ within the industry

Challenges:
Developing a digital community that connects women and girl with a common interest
Creating an app which has strong competitors but tackles an overlooked area of users
Finding a success method to showcase women’s successes and achievements
Showcasing and real stories of the women’s successes when most of the credit goes to their male team members

GG News’ information architecture consists of organization of information, labeling of context, navigation between sections, and search of specific content surrounding the news app mission to connect girls and women over video games.
